Research Centre for Church and Mission in the West

Utrecht Theological University is home to the Center for Church and Mission in the West (CCMW). CCMW is led by Prof. Dr. Stefan Paas. Its focus is the role of the church in the Western (secular) context. The Deddens Church Law Center is part of CCMW.

The Center for Church and Mission in the West brings together various experts who share a common interest in the sustainable innovation of the church and its mission in the secularized parts of the world. The CCMW focuses on the study and innovation of Christian practices, inside and outside the church. From an ecumenical perspective, CCMW operates in the Reformed tradition. It seeks to renew this tradition for the betterment of the church, institutional policies and mission of the Christian church in the West.

Other members of the CCMW are Prof. Dr. Leon van den Broeke, Dr. Karen Zwijze-Koning and Dr. Gert-Jan Roest.

The CCMW cooperates with the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede, the Evangelical Theological Faculty Leuven and the Freie Theologische Hochschule Gießen.
