Library Fund
For more than 75 years the Library Fund has provided money to the library for the purchase of books and magazines and for special expenses concerning the library (e.g. automation). This fund has ANBI status (see details below).
With the phased relocation of the Theological University from Kampen to Utrecht, the library will only move in the final phase, hopefully directly to a final location. In the meantime, of course, students and staff must be served in Utrecht.
For years, efforts have been underway to make publications available online through licensing with publishers. The library would like to see this process continue vigorously in the coming years. Occasionally (when necessary and possible) texts are scanned for the purpose of digital lending. Making a book available digitally is often much more expensive for the library than for an individual. Thus, this entails additional costs.
The Library Fund, once set up shortly after the Liberation as a Ladies’ Committee to provide books for the new library in Kampen, is now appealing to all church members to provide additional support for this fund in the coming years. This will allow the library to continue to make (digital) books and publications available to researchers, teachers, students and other users of the library.
