Membership

Membership is open to TU employees and students as well as interested parties.

When you visit the library, you can be registered. A borrower’s card will then be made for you. Please bring identification and proof of address for this purpose.

If you want to borrow books from the Utrecht University Library, you can register at one of the UB Utrecht locations. Students/employees can get a free membership upon presentation of their student/employee card. For more information click here.

If you want to change or have forgotten your password, you can request a link to change your password. To do so, click on “Sign in” button at the top right of the catalog website and then click on “Set/reset password.” The password is case sensitive and must consist of a minimum of 9 characters, including a non-alphabetic character. The characters : ; ‘ . are not allowed.

Applying and borrowing

The number of loans varies by loan category. You can find the maximum number of loans per category in the loan regulations under 4.3.

The book has to be brought from another location to Utrecht or the book is on loan. As soon as the book is (back) in the Utrecht library, you will receive an e-mail that it is ready for you. If this is not the case, please contact the lending desk.

If you are in the library, clicking on the “Access online” link will give you immediate access to digital publications. If not, please notify the library staff. Only TU staff and students can access the Theological University’s digital collection elsewhere. Once you click on the “Access online” link, a login screen will appear. Here you log in with your loan number and corresponding password.

To gain access to the electronic collection of the University Library Utrecht, you need a Guest-Solis-ID. You can request this via a form and then activate it at a service desk of the Utrecht University Library. For the form and more information click here.
With a guest-Solis-id you have access to the electronic collection on your own laptop, tablet or smartphone. Note: this only works in the UB Utrecht buildings.
